The evolution of the iPhone clones has been somewhat amazing to watch. What started out as a basic copy (the P168) which added an FM radio and a few extra speakers has evolved into a line of very differing phones that offer just about every feature under the sun, like WiFi, GPS, real time TV and e-book readers.
Additionally, there has been a new wave of iPhone clones which have added a texting keyboard and scroll bar onto the bottom of the phone. The company listened to folks who loved the flat screen but didn't want to text on it. For some, there is just no substitution for raised text keys.
The TV666 encompasses many of these evolving features. This one is a quad band and although I'd probably call it an iPhone clone because it has all of features packed into a touch interface, it really doesn't look much like the iPhone. It's got a full key board, scroll bar and an oversized screen with a retractable antenna so that you can watch real time analog television.
Don't confuse this analog real time TV with the "TV out" feature which means that you can connect the phone to a large screen TV and watch video on the phone on a bigger screen. The TV666 does have this feature, but it also has the analog version on which you can watch whatever is currently on the local stations in real time.
This TV phone is quad band which means that it will work just about anywhere worldwide with just about any carrier or network. All you have to do is insert your sim card and the phone will read and install the necessary information. No drivers are needed.
Additionally, this phone is dual sim, allowing you to have two phone numbers or plans on one phone. It allows: web browsing; emailing and texting; MP3 and MP4 capabilities; and Bluetooth.
The picture on this phone is sharp and clear. The sound is also very sharp, so watching TV or video on this phone is exactly as it should be. Reception is good too, even in the car. The keyboard is well laid out and the keys are firm enough to not make mistakes but not so firm that the process is slowed.
Price wise, this one is right in the middle - in the mid to low one hundred dollar range. I think this is pretty good considering there is a TV, MP3 and MP4 players, and digital camera all in one on this phone.
